Foam Cushions are a great answer to a customer wanting a cushion that maintains their shape without needing to be plumped, very durable whilst keeping comfort. Foam has a common misconception that all Foam has be very boxy in it’s finished look and very firm, but, this is not the case and Foam comes in a whole range of Densities from Super Soft (ideal for Back Cushions) and Very Firm (ideal for Bench seats, Window Seats or a Seat for someone who has Hip, Back problems or struggle to get up from the sofa.
Foams can be used for Seats and Back Cushions on the sofa and comes in a range of densities to suit needs.
If used as a Seat:
A Medium (Similar to the hardness of Fibre) Density Foam can be used to to ensure the customer can sit into the Cushion and remain comfortable whilst keeping their shape
A Medium/Firm Luxury Foam for someone that wants spring and to be held by the cushion more, this type of Foam is our most popular choice as you would still sit into the Cushion but not half way and too far that you would struggle to get up from the Sofa.
A Firm Combination Foam would be ideal for someone who has Hip Problems, Back issues or struggle to get up from the Sofa. The Foam would have a soft topper on both top and bottom to keep the cushion reversible and take the edge off the very firm Foam Centre to stop any sinking and have the Customer being held on top of the Cushion rather than in to the Cushion. (This cushion is also available as a fully firm cushion without the soft topper and would be known as the Blue Foam)
If used as a Back:
A Super Soft Foam would be used to emulate the feeling of a soft back cushion and keep the cushion as full as possible. We would not go any firmer with back cushions as they are only being leant against and so will firm enough already.
All of our Foams come with an option of Dacron to be glued on to the cushion to create a softer look and avoid as much boxiness as possible.

Foam Cushion FAQS
What is a Foam Cushion?
A Foam cushion is a block of Foam that is cut to the size of your cushion cover in a range of densities, we can add Dacron sheeting to the finished cushion to soften the look and stockinette to help the cushion slip into your cushion covers easier. We can add further loft to the thickness of the Foam (usually around 2″ extra) to make sure the Foam isn’t flat and boxy and does not change the look of the sofa and only making the cushions more durable, less maintenance needed.

My Cushions Are More Plump Than My Seam To Seam Border?
Foam cushions are available in Seat and back cushions and are made bespoke to your sizes either based on your seam to seam (or piping to piping) measurements of your cushion covers. It is important to follow the seam to seam border (or thickness) measurement but also measure the finished loft of the Foam inside the cushion also, manufacturers tend to overfill Foam in their covers, so is important we match the thickness of the original foam to duplicate the look as before. Foam Cushions are not stocked item and all cushions are cut bespoke for you and for your cover.
How Do I Know If I Have Foam Cushions Currently On My Sofa Seats or Back Cushions?
Foam will be visible as Foam Block inside the cushion and possibly have Wadding/Dacron glued to the cushion and then a stockinette casing to help the cushion come in and out of the cover with more ease. But if you are unsure you can send a picture to our email address to check what filling you may have.
